Does my gold need to be in good condition?

What if I do not know the karat?
We find it. Most pieces are stamped inside the band or on the clasp; unstamped pieces are tested.
Do you buy gold-plated or gold-filled jewellery?
Usually not. The layer of gold is too thin to have value. Bring it along anyway and we will check it for you.
Can I put the value toward something new?
